About The Beat Bumz

The Beat Bumz are a hip-hop/electro-pop production duo from Southern California consisting of songwriter/rapper Mike Cao and musician/composer Robby Moya. The two met in college and have been creating tracks together ever since. They produce original music for both themselves and other artists. They are currently based out of Orange County, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mike Cao

Mike "85 Mics" Cao is a producer, songwriter and artist originally from Anaheim, California. Inspired by the leading hip-hop producers of the 90's such as Dr. Dre, Puff Daddy, and Timbaland, Mike used his background in computers to begin experimenting with digital music during the dawn of the digital recording era. He studied music production at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

During college, Mike interned at Universal Music in addition to serving one year as President of the Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA). Around the same time, Mike started Entropy Entertainment and its subsidiary Entropy Records to publish the Beat Bumz's music.

When he's not working on tracks, Mike keeps himself busy working on the other aspects of Entropy Entertainment. Aside from web development and film editing, he is currently working on an independent video game for the XBOX 360 which will heavily feature the music of The Beat Bumz.

Robby Moya

Robby Moya is a musician, composer, and music producer from Buena Park, California. As a natural self-taught musician, he was part of his high school jazz band, and has performed in various venues with several bands. While bass guitar and piano are his main instruments, Robby is also highly proficient at performing with other instruments, including lead guitar, brass and percussion, and is an accomplished composer who possesses a vast fundamental knowledge of music theory.

Robby earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and his Masters degree from California State University, Long Beach. Upon graduation, Robby worked at Sony/ATV Music Publishing and produced tracks for various artists from Orange County and Los Angeles.

Robby currently owns Blueburr Music Publishing, also based in Orange County.
